AGNAOU GATE
The Minero-Petrographic Analysis
(Optical microscopy)

Sample
: LM4 fragment of rock
Location: Agnaou Gate-Marrakesh
Type of material: schist (shale)

Macroscopic data
(directly on the fragment)
Colour: grey
Stratigraphy: almost invisible
Cohesion: moderate to scarce

Microscopic data
(on thin section)
MATRIX
Nature: micaceous.
Colour: light brown (at parallel polars), greenish grey (at crossed polars).
Texture: slightly oriented

AGGREGATE
Nature: siliceous (mono and polycrystalline quartz), illitic-muscovite.
Granulometry: from fine-grained (size range 0. 1 - 0.25 mm) to very fine-grained (size range 0.05 -0.01 mm)

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ROCK
External: slight cleavage is present with oxides (dark in the section examined).
